Jim's birthday and Father's Day

Every year Jim's birthday falls right around Father's Day and I feel bad that he gets all his "special" days at once. I try really hard to have 2 separate celebrations, so this weekend was all about Daddy!

Saturday we had a birthday party for Daddy.  We had yummy bbq and a delicious cheesecake since he isn't fond of cake.  Then we opened presents.  Here are all of Daddy's birthday and Father's Day presents!  He made out like a bandet this year because not only did he get all of these gifts, he's also making his own smoker with a friend this weekend.  Lucky Daddy!

The boys had to help Daddy open all of his gifts.  There were just too many for Daddy to open all by himself.

I took Jackson to the Dollar Store and let him pick out some gifts for Daddy.  For Daddy's birthday Jackson picked out peppermint candies to give Daddy and some playdough for Austin to give Daddy.

Jackson put the bag on his head so he could have a birthday hat like Daddy.

Big Poppa's first haircut

Here's Big Poppa waiting for his turn to get a haircut. His hair was getting really long! My heart kind of wishes he was a girl so we didn't have to cut it, but alas, he's my Little Tiny BOY, and it's time to cut off some his pretty curls. Big Poppa before his big haircut:

Big Poppa after his big haircut:

This experience was anything but pleasant.  He screamed and cried like we were cutting off his toes instead of his hair.  I knew he would cry because he's never had a haircut before and Jackson is a pro at them.  I knew it was time to have a child that hated getting his haircut, but this was ridiculous.  Jim and I had to hold him down, completely restrained, to get his hair cut.  It's insane how strong this little 14 month old baby is!!  But the results are great.  He looks so much older now, it makes my heart a little sad.  My Little Tiny is growing up so quickly!

**Sidenote:  He looks just like my Uncle Glenn in the "after" haircut photo.  It…

George Albert Smith Challenge

May's ideal:  I would not seek to force people to live up to my ideals but rather love them inot doing the thing that is right.
This is another personal month for me, but there is are a few people who are not living the ideals they (and I) know to be true.  However, I love them very much and they are still outstanding people and I love them regardless.  That's all I will say about this month because it is personal.  June's ideal is:
I would live with the masses and help to solve their problems that their earth life may be happy.
