Brian and Whitney get married!

Our family has been waiting for this day for well over a year!  My little brother, Brian, finally married Whitney a couple weeks ago.  Such a wonderful weekend!
I mean, how cute are they?!

The first night was the rehearsal, of course, but I didn't get many pictures.
I do have a fun little story, though...
Jackson was the ring bearer, and Whitney wanted him to walk arm and arm with the flower girl, Delaney.  But, he wouldn't do it.  I thought maybe it was because he didn't know her before that night, but no, that's way too simple for Jackson.  Jackson didn't want to walk down the aisle with Delaney because he thought if he walked down the (wedding) aisle with this stranger-girl, he'd be married to her!  bahahahahahahahaha!  That is hysterical!
Once we assured him that they would not be married if he walked arm and arm with this (super sweet) little girl, he was totally fine with it.
But look at their little faces.  And their little fists.  Hahahahaha!  This is totally new territory for them.

That night at the rehearsal dinner, we caught a picture of this adorable little superhero-

I posted this picture of Jim and me on Facebook because we're rarely dressed up these days...

but I didn't post the photo of this cute little creeper.
He's so dang cute!

I won't post too many pictures of the bride and groom because I don't want to steal their thunder, but I have lots of pictures of my littles!  ...and a few of the bride and groom too.

Well, first, you can't have a proper wedding reception without cake.

And a first dance.

And a mother-son dance.

So with all the dancing going on, I guess Jackson thought it was a good time to ask me to dance.  It was such an important moment for me, it was the first time one of my boys asked me to dance. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of that dance.  It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about that sweet boy asking his mama to dance.

Then, there was some line-dancing going on, and Jackson had no idea how to line-dance, but he got out there anyway!  Watch out, ladies, here he comes!

Harrison wasn't going to let Jackson get all the attention!
I think he was break dancing...??

At one point, I see Jackson just sitting with some new friends, enjoying the night, and I thought, man, it's going by too fast.  Every time I look at Jackson, he looks more and more like a little man.  He's so much closer to being a teenager and farther and farther away from being a baby.
My heart can't take it.

And I realized, I had no idea where my other children were...
I found Austin behind me.  He didn't want me to take his picture, so he was "shooing" me away.

Then, I found my youngest little guy, just standing by himself, taking a moment.

It was such a fun, beautiful night.  I'm so glad Whitney is officially part of our family, though we've felt like she was one of us for a long, long time now.
I'll end with this cute picture of Delaney, the flower girl, keeping Harrison entertained.

The end of school; the end of an era

Soooo, it's been awhile since I've posted, and by "awhile" I mean a year ago.  Oops.  I'm so busy during the school year with my own classes that I forget to post in the blog.  I'll try to do better, especially for our family that lives far away. The end of this school year was crazy!  I felt like I was running in circles working in the PTA- there was so much to do!  I thought joining the PTA would be some good volunteer time at the boys' school- I had NO idea just how much time it takes!  Next year, I'll be a little more prepared because I know what's coming.  And that's not even the crazy part- Jackson has finished elementary and Harrison graduated from pre-k.  That's crazy!  Where did the time go?! Harrison's graduation was first, so I'll start there.  It was soooo sweet and so cute, and I cried like a baby because he IS my baby.  This tiny person is such a perfect little caboose for our family.  Recently, I've been thin...

Maybe a new birthday tradition...

I just have one brother and his birthday is 5 days before mine, so it's been pretty easy to keep up with him. Jim, however, has 3 brothers and a sister, and now 3 of his siblings are married, so the birthday's just keep adding up. My forgetful brain can NOT keep up. Anyway, I've been looking for a cute and thoughtful way to send birthday greetings to all the aunts and uncles since we've been married. Almost 4 years later I think I finally have an idea! My idea is to make a birthday sign every year and have the boys take a picture with the sign for whatever family member has a birthday. Then send the person the picture with birthday greetings. Then every year they will have a different picture with the boys as they grow and I won't feel guilty missing anyone's birthday without proper acknowledgement. I also thought that it would make a great photo album for us if we keep each person's birthday picture with the boys and watch their growth progression ...

Can I finally join the club??

I have issues with making anything with yeast.  It scares me.  I tried making rolls or bread in home-ec as a kid and it was a FLOP!  Since, I stay far away from baking goods with yeast, so of course, that includes homemade bread.  I LOVE homemade bread, but I've never made it.  I realize I'm not a real Mormon wife and mother because of this huge flaw, but I've managed to make it as a so-so wife and mom with this awful glitch in my character.  Then I came across an "easy" recipe for honey wheat bread (thanks for posting it on fb Liz Nuffer) and decided to conquer my fear of yeast. First things first, I had to buy yeast- there are 394 different kinds of yeast.  No one warned me how many different kinds there were!  My fear began to overcome me, but I gathered all my strength and picked the most interestingly plain kind I could find.  Hopefully it would do the trick! I followed the recipe, but it said to wait until the yeast "frothed". ...
